More to come, but if you are looking for a book to read right away, or a show to watch, here is something for you.
This book is great. I will say it took me about 1/4 of the book to really get into it, but once I was in, I was in all the way. You will fall in love with the characters and if you don’t have a lump in your throat at the end, you don’t have a heart.
This is one of the best and most important books I have read in a long time. Archbishop Desmond Tutu and the Dalai Lama share a deep friendship. They came together for a week and talked about how to have lasting joy in our lives. It reinforced a deep seeded belief that I have, “What unites us is greater than what divides us.” I cannot recommend this book enough.
As important as “The Book of Joy” is, this book is just as important. But while “The Book of Joy” is important in a communal sense, “Daring Greatly” is important in an individual sense. If you have a hard time being vulnerable and shame plays to big a role in your life, you should read this book.
This is a quirky BBC show that you can find on Netflix. There are only 2 seasons and I am looking forward to the third (assuming they make a third). It follows Lance and Andy and their metal detecting ways in a small town in England. They are “lovable losers” in the best sense of the phrase. The show does a great job of poking fun at them while at the same time you root for them in life and love.
